CVE Database Manager Keeps Teams Current and Search-Ready
CVE Database Manager in RTFMv2
The CVE Database Manager is built to keep security teams aligned with the latest vulnerability data while powering fast, relevant search. Whether you want a complete rebuild of your own embedded (vector DB) CVE dataset or prefer to build on top of an existing CVE database, the manager provides a single place to control updates and monitor progress.
From the dashboard, you can run a full update for a clean end-to-end refresh or choose incremental updates that pull only newly published CVEs. This makes it easy to do heavyweight rebuilds when needed and lightweight refreshes for routine maintenance, while still tracking totals, last update time, and overall database size.
Embedding and semantic search behavior is flexible by design. The embedding model is selected in the Admin AI options, allowing each deployment to choose the provider and model that best fits its environment. That model is then used to generate embeddings so users can search by meaning rather than exact text.
Search capabilities are built for real-world workflows, including the ability to query by full or partial CPE input. This helps analysts quickly locate the relevant CVEs even when only fragments of a product identifier are available, and keeps investigations moving without waiting on perfect input data.
Overall, the CVE Database Manager keeps your team current, keeps search fast, and makes the update pipeline transparent and reliable.
